Grocery Store Savings by the Month

by Lisa Leete

Have you wondered when is the best time to stock up on grocery items?  Below is a calendar of sales that you can count on to happen each year:

January:  Super Bowl - chips, pretzels, soda

March: National Frozen Foods Month - all frozen items

April: Easter - ham, eggs

June: National Dairy Month - all dairy items

July: Picnic and grilling items - hot dogs, steaks, paper plates & cups

August: Back to school - peanut butter, juice boxes, Lunchables

November & December: Holiday baking - flour, sugar, vanilla, holiday meal items - hams, turkeys, stuffing

You'll see these items at their absolute lowest prices of the year at these times, with many available for free or nearly free. Stock up - you won't see these items at these prices again for another year!
