Bargains at PETCO Park!
No doubt, baseball is the great American pastime. With 162 games of the regular season, ½ of which are played at home, there’s nothing like the great baseball experience! Basically, if you avoid the beer and purchase tickets for affordable seating (least expensive assigned seat is in the bleachers at $9), take public transportation, and avoid paying $30 to park your gas-guzzler… you will have a head start on your kids’ college education!
Save on Tickets
Pre-Purchase Tickets!
Buy ahead, of course, and you’ll save a few bucks on ticket prices. Get tickets in advance. The earlier you buy them, the better they’ll be. If you buy them online, resist Ticketmaster’s offer of your being able to print your tickets right away, as you’ll pay a convenience fee for printing them on your own computer. Instead, have them mailed to you for free or held at Will Call.
Right Field Pavilion ”Bases Loaded Tickets“ Deal
These $45 tickets (sections 219-225 on the first base side of the Toyota Terrace Level) contain $20 worth of ballpark concession and/or merchandise value. These tickets can be used at all fixed Toyota Terrace concession stands and merchandise locations as well as Club 19.
Park at the Park Tickets Offer Many Options
During the non-game times this area is considered a neighborhood park for the downtown residents. On game days, take the kids and let them burn some energy and play around and the fun playground. For $5 per person ($7 for premium games), you can chill on a blanket or recline on the grass and enjoy the game on the big screen. If you get there early enough (try one hour), plant your blanket on the hill which has a full view of the infield and batter, as well as most of right field. Also, you pretty much have free reign of most of the ballpark. The bar in the Western Metal Supply Company building has balconies which are cool, and if you get there early you can grab some seats. Other favs. are standing-room-only areas in the left-field corner, above aisles 122-124, and above isles 101 and 102, which are right behind home plate! Go frugal-icious Friars!
Got kids under 36"?
PETCO Park offers FREE admission to children less than 36 inches in height, but an adult with a valid ticket has to be with them. These children must sit in the lap of the adult.

Save on Kid-Friendly Food
July Dollar Days
During every Padres home game in July hot dogs and soft drinks are each only $1. You have a limit of four items per purchase. The $1 offer is good on Friar Franks, Veggie Dogs and regular size sodas only. All beer is $1 off! Good while supplies last.
Munch Out at The Friar Shack
Head down near the bleachers near Park at the Park and grab some grub for the kids for cheap for $1.50. Peanut butter and jelly, popcorn, hot dogs, drinks and more will be kind to your pocketbook.
Take Your Own Beverages
Bottles, cans, thermoses, jugs, and containers larger than 16" x 16" x 8" are not allowed. Sealed, bottled water under one-half liter (20 oz.) and soft-sided single juice or milk containers are the only outside beverages allowed.
Take Your Own Food
You can take your own food, but the items have to be consumed in the general seating or designated picnic areas. Outside food cannot be brought into any restaurant, club lounge, or suite. All food items should be wrapped, bagged or left inside a container. If it can be thrown (like hurt if you throw), it has to be sliced (i.e., oranges, apples). Not enough time to prepare grub? Grab some tacos at nearby Valentine’s Mexican or Taco Del Mar, or grab a sandwich at Dirty Del’s, 7-11 or Subway… that’s only if you want a break from those warm homemade tuna sandwiches.
Other Ways to Save
Save on Gas/Parking
Take public transportation! The Coaster, for about $10 roundtrip from North County, will transport you to downtown’s Santa Fe station. Then either grab a free transfer to a trolley or take a 20-minute walk to Petco Park.
Go on Tuesday and receive $6 off the purchase price of a Padres ticket valued at $12 or more when you show your Coaster ticket!
Street parking is free after 6 p.m.
Washington Mutual parking lot at 7th and Broadway: $10.00, walk 6 blocks.
Pay $8 for parking underneath the San Diego Convention Center.
