Free and Discounted Admission to Balboa Park Museums
Balboa Park offers free admission to certain museums on "Free Tuesdays" to San Diego residents and active military. The Park rotates them on each Tuesday, so only certain museums are free on certain Tuesdays of the month. The free admission primarily does not typically apply to special events, attractions or exhibits. The Timken Museum of Art is always free.
Schedule for Free Tuesdays
First Tuesday: Reuben H. Fleet Science Center, San Diego Natural History Museum, San Diego Model Railroad Museum
Second Tuesday: San Diego Historical Society Museum, Museum of Photographic Arts
Third Tuesday: San Diego Art Institute, San Diego Museum of Art, San Diego Museum of Man, Japanese Friendship Garden, Mingei International Museum
Fourth Tuesday: San Diego Air & Space Museum, San Diego Automotive Museum, San Diego Hall of Champions
Fifth Tuesday: Normal Museum Prices are in effect.
1/2 Price Admission to San Diego Museums
During the month of February, the San Diego Museum Council and Macy’s invite entertainment seekers in San Diego County to visit more than 30 participating institutions at half-price admission with a free Museum Month pass. Travelocity webstevesite recently named San Diego "the newest cultural Mecca in the United States”. With so many museums and organizations to visit - from music to sports, and animals to the visual arts - the Museum Month pass gives San Diegans a chance to try it all.
