Hello SanDiegoBargainMama members!  We are Julie Gelfat and Alexandra Hart, site owners of SanDiegoTravelTips.com. 

After roaming the back roads and walking the urban sidewalks, photographing as we went along, we decided it was time to put our unique San Diego finds into a website.  With over 40 years of checking things out in San Diego, we KNOW San Diego.   If you want to save money and be a tourist in your own backyard, we have some great tips for you!

What we know for sure is that San Diego is chock full of fun things to do.   We set out to find those different and off-the-beaten places to explore in San Diego County, whether it is for dining, recreation, or culture.  We want people to explore the real San Diego without emptying their wallets.  Sure, there are books, websites, and lists of how to recreate in San Diego, but most of those mention the popular and heavily advertised destinations.  What makes us different from the other guides is that we personally check out all the places before we recommend them to our members.  Got relatives coming?  Need new ideas on what to do with the kids or in-laws?  Be sure to frequent our new column here on SanDiegoBargainMama.com and ask us your questions.  Consider us as your "resident“ experts.
