Q: "I like your website and think that it speaks to a good majority of new families trying to stay afloat financially. I am a stay-at-home mom with three-year-old twin boys. My husband and I very much value my staying at home with them, but with the expenses we have and only one income we have a tight budget. My plans are for me to return to work part-time when they are both in elementary school full-time, so until then we are extra careful. We had always thought that the kids would start pre-school a couple days a week when they are around three, but our reality is that even a couple days a week of pre-school adds up close to a grand a month in my area! What suggestions do you have for us? We need to stay on a tight budget if I am to say home with them."

A: I hear you! I hear you! You are used to double by now! First of all, thumbs up to your for staying at home with the kids and finding a way to make it work! I have done my homework on this topic and have found that engaging, enriching, and affordable alternatives to traditional pre-school are out there if we, as parents, put out the extra effort to take advantage of them and engage in a more hands-on approach! Best wishes to you and your family.
