Amy, the San Diego leader of LWL, has over 12 years experience in marketing, PR and journalism. She has literally sat on all sides of the table in corporate, agency and media environments.
After working her way up the corporate ladder, Amy became the youngest international project director for a European based press and communications company, while living and working in the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Europe. Amy wrote and produced financial investment reports for Time, U.S. News and World Report, The Sunday Telegraph, Le Monde and other European media. She built a sizable portfolio of international contacts and interviewed over 100 heads of state and CEOs including Israeli Foreign Minister and Nobel Peace Prize winner, Shimon Perez; son of Egyptian President and current presidential hopeful, Gamal Mubarak; President of Ghana, John Kufour; and Prime Minister of Malta, Dr. Edward Fenech-Adami. After returning to the United States Amy led national bilingual wireless consumer campaigns encompassing TV, radio, print, cross promotional sponsorships and grass roots public relations tactics.
Her talents for brand strategy and communications made Amy’s transition to consulting a logical next step. With clients ranging from high-tech to non-profit, self-employment has allowed Amy to continue to indulge her passion for adventure and humanitarian causes. After the 2004 tsunami, Amy directed SurfAid International’s marketing and public relations efforts during the relief effort. She created a donor relations and communications plan that garnered coverage from CNN, Associated Press, the Los Angeles Times, and several other international media outlets and helped to raise over 1 million dollars in grants and donations from partners around the world.
In addition to her full time work in marketing and public relations, she has two ventures on the side. Amy’s vision of starting a women’s network with workshops that foster entrepreneurship and the pursuit of passions was realized when she started the ”Ladies Who Launch“ branch in San Diego where she currently resides. She is also the founder of RAW marketing, a company that coaches businesses on DIY marketing strategies. Amy’s hobbies include reading, writing, pilates, surfing, snowboarding and skiing.
