We are San Diego Travel Tips.com, a web-based, woman-owned business, founded by Julie Gelfat and Alexandra Hart.

San Diego is our passion.  San Diego Travel Tips.com was developed to showcase San Diego to tourists, support local small businesses, and inspire local San Diegans to get out and vacation right here at home.

We took a big bite of the apple.  We know that you can find countless books, websites, and magazines that promote San Diego.  We knew that competition would be fierce.

What makes us different?    We are locals with our feet on the ground walking or with keys in the ignition driving – continuously in search of the unique treasures in San Diego.  San Diego Travel Tips.com is all about the special places in San Diego that take time to discover.  We have made some great discoveries that often do not get the light of day.   We’ve found places that are in rural parts of San Diego and some that are smack dab in the middle of San Diego, but don’t get much press.  In a tourist town, like San Diego, the large attractions seem to get all the limelight.  We are changing that.

We know busy families don’t always have time to roam around looking for new adventures.  We’ve done all the homework.  We’ve found and we keep looking for new adventures and great spots.  Some of the best new finds are old haunts.  Our site is filled with great information for the tourists and for the residents of San Diego.

We make it our business to check out the corners, back-roads, local favorites, and hidden secrets of San Diego.   Our website is brimming with ideas for daytrips, family-friendly activities, favorite local dining, the unusual and everything in between.  We focus on the places that are free or inexpensive. You don’t have to break the bank to have a great time.  That’s the truth.
